Blau Auditorium, UM Ross School of Business (map)
"In the past 15 years, Boulder has gone from a little hippie college town to a little hippie college town also boasting an impressive and growing congregation of Internet entrepreneurs, early-stage venture capitalists, and bloggers. How did Boulder pull this off? And what can other cities, policymakers, and entrepreneurs who want to boost their own start-up quotient—and overall competiveness at a local level—learn from Boulder’s success?"

Jason Mendelson, co-founder and Managing Director of Foundry Group, a Boulder-based venture capital firm that invests in early-stage information technology companies, will be here to speak at the new Blau Auditorium in UM's Ross Business School on Building an Entrepreneurial Community: Lessons from Boulder, CO on Wednesday April 1, at 7 PM hosted by Professor David Brophy, Director of UM's Center for Venture Capital and Private Equity Finance, as part of his Finance 325 (Entrepreneurial Finance) class.
Looking forward to the talk! Might have to duck out early to make it to http://coffeehousecoders.org/![]()
Ditto :) I might also duck out early for http://coffeehousecoders.org![]()
I also posted this to the new Ann Arbor Startups blog: http://a2startups.com![]()
Will this be recorded and the video podcast put on the internets? It'll be tough for me to make it out tonight.
In lieu of A/V recording, can we at least get a copy of the Powerpoint used in the presentation? There were several good observations and ideas that need to be more widely shared throughout our community.
I'll ask Jason about sharing just the Boulder vs. Ann Arbor slides which summarize his argument (without going into the gory details that would get him kicked out of town - either in Boulder OR Ann Arbor! ;-) The similarities between a2geeks activities and those in Boulder are not coincidental, but part of an unspoken agenda to drive the kind of transformative change that happened there: http://bit.ly/19GKh0![]()
Not for this event, unfortunately. We'll publish a schedule for our regular monthly meetup once we've worked out the venue. Thanks!
